Hitachi Los Angeles Office Releases Video in Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Hitachi Kite Workshops

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Hitachi Japanese Kite Workshops, the Hitachi Los Angeles office in partnership with the Japan America Society of Southern California, released a video showcasing past Japanese kite workshops and the intricate art form of Japanese Kite Master Mikio Toki. Due to Covid-19, the workshops were not held in person for the past two years. In lieu of the in-person event, the video was released on all Hitachi social media channels as well as the JASSC website. It was also distributed to several of the Hitachi group companies. These workshops have brought a cultural experience unlike any other to more than 17,000 elementary school children in the Los Angeles area. The kite workshops are offered primarily to Title I schools in underserved neighborhoods in the Greater Los Angeles area at no cost to the schools. Hitachi Los Angeles office provides funding for all the kites and materials used in the kite making process.
