Policy Framework for the IoT Era

Policy Framework for the IoT Era

The multi-sectoral shift towards the Internet of Things (IoT) is fundamentally reordering the relationship between humans, physical assets, and data. The proliferation of internet-enabled devices capable of communicating with one another and the cloud has unleashed a deluge of new data that innovative companies like Hitachi are not only storing, but also harnessing, blending, analyzing, and visualizing to deliver actionable insights. Hitachi’s deep OT and IT expertise make it uniquely suited to co-create custom IoT solutions that improve operational efficiencies, generate new services, and boost productivity.

Our Government Relations team is working closely with federal lawmakers to promote public policies that will not only fuel IoT innovation, but also prioritize safety, privacy, and security. We are urging the United States government to construct an IoT policy framework that encourages greater IoT investment and realizes increased connectivity, public-private partnerships (PPP), enhanced cybersecurity, and sufficient spectrum in all band ranges. The IoT era holds great promise for the United States, and Hitachi is eager to help unlock its full potential.
